Inside Unit 731 is a gripping two-part investigation into one of Japan’s most secretive wartime programmes – a biological warfare unit that conducted lethal human experiments. At the centre of this story is Hideo Shimizu, one of the unit’s last surviving members. Now in his late 90s, Shimizu breaks decades of silence to reveal what he witnessed as a teenage recruit inside the unit’s complex in Harbin, China.
